Intimate Online Grief Circle on November 18th – Finding Comfort in Community

Grieving can feel like an isolating journey, but it doesn’t have to be. On November 18th 2024 at 1 pm CET, I’ll be hosting a 90-minute online grief circle for those who wish to experience the warmth, comfort, and understanding of a supportive community. Whether your loss involves a loved one, a relationship, a dream, or any significant life change, this circle offers a safe space for sharing, connection, and healing.

What is a Grieving Circle?

A grieving circle is a supportive gathering where people come together to share their experiences of loss. This gentle, communal approach honors each person’s unique journey, allowing for open expression in a safe and non-judgmental space. Our circle will include a grounding meditation to center ourselves, followed by a sharing session where each participant can share, listen, or simply be present.

In a grieving circle, you’re not expected to “fix” anything or to have all the answers. Instead, the circle serves as a collective space where everyone can bring their emotions, memories, and hopes, knowing they are supported by others on similar journeys.

Why It’s Good to Share Your Grief

Grief is a natural response to loss, but carrying it alone can feel overwhelming. When we share our grief, we’re not only acknowledging our pain but also honoring the person or part of life we’ve lost. This act of sharing helps to release emotions that can be hard to bear in isolation, giving them a voice and a place to be held. Sharing can be a powerful step toward healing, allowing us to connect with our inner selves and recognize that our emotions are valid and shared by others.

Knowing You’re Not Alone

One of the most comforting aspects of a grief circle is the realization that you’re not alone. In times of loss, it’s common to feel that no one else can truly understand our pain. However, in a group of people who have all experienced different types of loss, there’s a profound sense of shared humanity. The group provides reassurance that others are on this path too, each navigating their own unique journey but finding comfort in shared understanding.

Benefits of a Group Setting

  • Shared Empathy: Being in a circle of people who understand grief creates a unique bond of empathy and compassion. You’ll find that everyone has a story, and sharing these experiences can feel like a weight lifted.

  • A Sense of Belonging: Grief can make us feel disconnected from others. A grief circle creates a place where you’re fully accepted, where loss and healing can coexist without pressure or expectation.

  • New Perspectives on Grief: Hearing others’ stories often provides fresh perspectives and ways to approach our own experiences. Others in the group may share coping strategies, insights, or personal breakthroughs that could resonate with your journey.

  • Mindfulness and Presence: Our gathering will begin with a grounding meditation, a practice that helps to center ourselves and be fully present. This moment of mindfulness brings calm, allowing you to connect with yourself and with others, even in an online space.

How to Join

If you’re seeking a space to express, reflect, and connect with others who understand, I warmly invite you to join this online grief circle. All experiences of grief are welcomed with open hearts and compassion. No matter your loss, this circle is here to hold space for you.

Spaces are limited to keep the experience intimate and meaningful.

Let’s come together to remember, to heal, and to feel the strength of a compassionate community. I look forward to holding this sacred space with you on November 18th.

Yours, Melanie
